Shlomit's story
My career began as a Medical Speech-Language Pathologist in renowned hospitals - Stanford University Hospital and New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center - across emergency departments, intensive care units, and outpatient clinics. I specialized in swallowing and speech/language disorders in neurogenic, cardio-thoracic, and aging populations.
During those years, I saw firsthand the overwhelming challenges patients and their families face when making critical health decisions, often with limited time and understanding. Even in the most compassionate environments, providers are stretched thin, leaving families to navigate complex situations on their own.
I'm their medical crisis manager. I don't work for the hospital or the insurance company - I work for my clients and their families.
That is why I transitioned into patient advocacy. As an advocate, I am fully dedicated to my clients: I read the medical charts, translate medical jargon, make sure clients' wishes are respected, and plan safe discharges. Essentially, I make sure nothing important falls through the cracks.
